The universe, man and purpose
The age of the universe is about 13.8 billion years, the age of our sun is 4.6 billion years, the age of the earth is 4.5 billion years, life on earth started 3.5 billion years ago and early man appeared about 2 million years ago. If the ultimate goal of the universe was man, then why did human life begin billions of years later? Why did life have to go through so many difficult and deadly stages to adapt to human form that almost 99% of species lost their lives or disappeared from the face of the earth in the struggle for survival?
Excluding the rest of the species, if we look at the universe in terms of Homo sapiens sapiens, pre-humans who fall into the category of Homo, such as Homo habilus, Homo erectus, Homo neanderthal, etc., are they the same as us? Do you think that this universe was created for them? If the answer is yes, then it only means that the universe has no purpose in itself, but man finds purpose in it, or so it is said, man gives purpose to the universe. And even if the answer is no, it still means that if the universe had been created for those Homos or human beings before us, the conditions on earth would have been favorable for life and thus those species would have been fighting for their survival. Do not perish.
The truth is that the universe itself does not know what the purpose of the universe is. This is the human being who cannot live without giving purpose to his life, his environment, this earth and the universe. Because man is the only conscious being on earth who sees and interprets everything from his human side. Therefore, it would not be wrong to say that the whole interpretation of the universe is Homo-centric. Purpose is the product of our mind in which our desires can be reflected, otherwise the sun is not created so that when its light reaches our eyes we can see the world, trees are not created to give us shade and fruit because Trees give shade and fruit even when there is no human being on earth.
The river Ganga was not built so that Hindus could wash their sins by dipping in it. Understand that if the universe or the earth were created for man, then the conditions and environment of life should have been so favorable that man would not have to fight for millions of millions of years to fight for evolution. It was a life that has come to this day by fighting adversity, adapting to the environment, struggling under blind natural laws. It doesn't matter to the universe / nature what attitude we have towards the way we look at the universe, but it does matter to us because as much as our theory and attitude understands and sees the universe / nature correctly As much as we will be able to solve our existence and cultural problems because nature does not respect our wishes or desires but we have to adapt and walk according to the laws of nature, nature does not change for us but We have to bring our existence and civilization under the laws of nature.
